The Centre for Philosophy and AI Research {PAIR} was established in 2022 with funding from a prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Professorship (Prof. Vincent C. Müller) at the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). The centres' themes are fundamental issues of AI, both normative (ethical) and descriptive (theoretical) and PAIR is expected to soon be one of the internationally leading institutions in this field.

Your Tasks

Personal Academic Management:

  • Management and maintenance of the calendar, including scheduling appointments
  • Handling and processing email correspondence in German and English
  • Planning, booking, and coordinating travel and accommodation
  • Processing reimbursements, applications, and administrative procedures
  • Managing procurements and administrative orders

Administrative Teaching Support:

  • Organizing and preparing online teaching materials according to guidelines
  • Creating and formatting presentations
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of teaching activities

Assistance and Support for Research:

  • Conducting literature research and preparing relevant content
  • Formatting and designing presentations and academic publications
  • Coordinating and liaising with publishers and academic journals
  • Editing and proofreading texts and manuscripts
  • Supporting the planning and organization of academic workshops and conferences


Your Profile
  • Commercial or administrative education or a comparable qualification
  • Solid IT skills with common MS Office applications
  • Good German skills (at least B1 level) and very good English skills (at least C1 level)
  • Initiative and ability to organize tasks, hands-on mentality
  • Strong comprehension and quick perception
  • Reliability and confidentiality
  • Empathetic demeanor and enjoyment in working with people
